Why It's On The List
- A gambling game using poker dice, poker hands, and a host of interactions with the western town (aka "board") that rewards clever play, reading your opponent's intentions, and the luck of the dice.
Tips & Tricks:
- There are ways to win without trying to claim lots of land... or hoarding gold... or whatever. In other words, there are multiple paths to victory.
- At the same time, it's wise to dip into those areas every once in a while to make sure that a single opponent isn't grabbing up all the goodies.
Extras
- I have played both the original game (which I own) and the new edition (which I do not)... in both cases, the Extension (original) or Wild West (new) expansion is a "must buy". It adds more variety to each space and helps create more room for interesting things to happen.
- The Cowboys expansion adds variety but isn't essential... and I haven't had the chance to play the Fistful of Cards expansion yet. (But I know it's waiting for me, since I gave it to my friend who owns the new version as a birthday gift!)
