Ouch

Fear & control are behind most decisions made by the leadership of North American churches. Reggie McNeal

Ouch - that cuts a bit close to the bone. Question for the day: what am I doing RIGHT NOW in my ministry that is primarily about the fear of other people and/or the need to control?

He's a hoot to listen to... even though he has trouble finishing sentences because his brain is runing 100 miles an hour.

What I esp. like is that he's "of my tribe" (Southern Baptist) but he sure doesn't sound like it. I'm glad someone in denominational leadership is saying the tough stuff about the current state of the church... and the hope we have for the future if we stop worrying about preserving churchianity!

Hey Mark, I haven't posted here before but have read your blog for a while (still trying to get the will to get mine started).

But a quick note to say I love the combination of spiritual/Christianity writing and boardgames. Awesome combo.

Inspired, I've ordered The Present Future and Is Belief in God Good, Bad or Irreverant? which I'm particularly interested in. I think this should actually be a series of books - I'd like to see Marilyn Manson have his say!

I'll keep you posted on how the books turn out.

Adam... I'm glad you're enjoying the blog. It's nice to know that my eclectic mix of seriousness & nonsense is reaching an appreciative audience.
