2022 in Gaming: Half a Year in Review


Just a quick update on my gaming for the first half of 2022... as much for my enjoyment as for yours (though I'd love for questions and comments about the stuff I'm playing and enjoying).

I've played 161 different games a total of 408 times... which is slightly ahead of my usual pace of 800 plays each year.

    • playing in a tournament definitely bumped this number

    • my younger son loves Innovation
  • Return to Dark Tower
    • 14 plays
    • one of two new games with 10+ plays
  • My City
    • 12 plays
    • really looking forward to My Island (coming later this year)
  • Trails of Tucana
    • 11 plays
    • thanks again to Daniel for finding me a copy... what a lovely flip'n'write game
  • Dice Realms

    • Unmatched: Battle of Legends
      • 9 plays
      • Some playtesting + one of my son's friends fell in love with this game
    • Can't Stop
      • 8 plays
      • Sid Sackson's best design
    • Exceed Fighting System
      • 8 plays
      • my younger son is obsessed with this game... and the new wave coming later this summer means we'll play even more of it
    • Race for the Galaxy
      • 8 plays
      • and that doesn't even count how many times I've played the AI on the app
    • Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
      • 7 plays
      • excellent solo game - just published a review this morning!
    • It's a Wonderful Kingdom

      • need to get this to the table more... I like the ideas in it and think it works better the more you play it
    • Undaunted: Normandy &North Africa
